The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Eagles' (5-13) home loss to ninth ranked Suns (6-10) 54-72 on Friday. Suns held Eagles to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 32.0 percent accuracy of the winners and made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Suns forced 19 Eagles turnovers and outrebounded them 54-40 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for American guard Natalie Chou (185-1997, college: UCLA) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Her fellow American import guard Makailah Dyer (175-1994, college: N.Dakota) helped adding 11 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side Canadian swingman Madison Torresin (183-1996, college: W.Chester, agency: DC Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and forward Maddison Allen (190-1993, college: Santa Clara) scored 8 points and 13 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Suns. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with McKinnon C. and Pakenham W. Eagles lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Illawarra H. and Keilor T.. Suns will meet at home Giants (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Eagles will play against Redbacks and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
