Regular Season Round 13: Giants - Jets 92-87

Everything could happen in Stoke at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Giants and 6th ranked Jets had identical 5-9 record. This time Giants used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Palmerston North 92-87 on Saturday night. American point guard Avery Woodson (188-1993, college: Butler) stepped up and scored 36 points (!!!) for the winners and center Callum McRae (216-1999, college: Sacramento St.) chipped in 15 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). At the losing side American forward Danny Pippen (206-1997, college: Kent St.) responded with 28 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import guard Mustapha Heron (196-1997, college: St.John's) scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. Four Jets players scored in double figures. Giants (6-9) moved-up to sixth place. Jets at the other side dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Airs. Giants will meet at home league's second-placed Nuggets in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jets will play against Rams (#4) and hope to secure a win.
