Rather expected game in Alexandria where 5th ranked Comets (11-6) were rolled over by second ranked Falcons (16-2) 71-50 on Saturday. Falcons dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Comets' 24. Falcons forced 19 Comets turnovers and outrebounded them 51-29 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American guard Nicole Munger (180-1997, college: Michigan) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 20 rebounds and 5 assists. Her fellow American import guard Mykea Gray (163-1998, college: Miami, FL) helped adding 12 points. At the losing side power forward Jada Crawshaw (184-2004) responded with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks and Sarah Wacher scored 18 points. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Falcons. They maintain second place with 16-2 record having just two points less than leader Wyndham D. Comets lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Mandurah M.. Falcons will meet at home Hawks (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Comets will play against Bruins (#10) in Condell Park and hope to secure a win.
