Very predictable result in Crows Nest where third ranked North Bears (14-4) beat 8th ranked Lady Bandits (10-8) 70-57 on Saturday. North Bears looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Lady Bandits' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when North Bears made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for American guard Jolene Anderson (173-1986, college: Wisconsin) who led her team to a victory scoring 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Kate Seebohm (170-1991, college: California, PA) helped adding 5 points and 11 assists. North Bears' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American guard Mikayla Pivec (178-1997, college: Oregon St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import forward Malury Bates (190, college: Georgia, agency: Shark Sports Management) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Four Lady Bandits players scored in double figures. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for North Bears. They maintain third place with 14-4 record having four points less than leader Wyndham D. Loser Lady Bandits keep the eighth position with eight games lost. North Bears will meet at home Bulls (#14) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Lady Bandits will play against Sharks (#5) and hope to secure a win.
