There was a surprise result in Booval where twelfth ranked Force (5-11) won against higher ranked Salties (11-7) 90-76 on Saturday. Force forced 20 Salties turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was a great evening for guard Jasmin Howe (173-1995, college: NW Missouri St.) who led her team to a victory scoring 22 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. American power forward Maria Blazejewski (185-1991, college: LSSU) helped adding 28 points and 5 rebounds. Howe is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side forward Catherine MacGregor (181-2002) responded with 25 points and 5 rebounds and New Zealand forward Tsubasa Nisbet (183-2000, college: Georgia South) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Force moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Hume City B. and USC Rip. Salties lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. They share it with Perry Lakes H. and Maitland M.. Force will meet Capitals (#11) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Salties will play against Sunshine CP (#14) and hope to secure a win.
