The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Lions' (1-14) home loss to ninth ranked Mavericks (3-12) 66-111 on Saturday. Mavericks made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 26 Lions turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Lions' players. It was a great evening for point guard Taylah Levy (165, college: CSU) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 10 assists and 5 steals. American-Ugandan guard Jannon Otto (183-1997, college: UC Riverside) helped adding 22 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 9 steals. Five Mavericks players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Tiahna Sears (178, college: N.Alabama) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and American guard Jaedyn De La Cerda (175, college: N.Mexico) scored 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mavericks maintains ninth place with 3-12 record. Lions lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 14 games lost. Mavericks will meet higher ranked Bearcats (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lions will play against the league's leader Sabres (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
