There was a small surprise in Tullamarine where sixth ranked Hume City Broncos (5-11) defeated 4th placed Cougars (6-10) 69-56 on Sunday. Hume City Broncos forced 24 Cougars turnovers. It was a great evening for Alexandra McKellar who led her team to a victory scoring 18 points. American forward Kayonna Lee (185, college: Central Mo.) helped adding 8 points and 7 rebounds. Lee is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Hume City Broncos' coach Tim Devlin used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Morgan Riley responded with 7 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Briana Gray (178, college: Weber St., agency: DC Sports) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Hume City Broncos maintains sixth place with 5-11 record, which they share with Ipswich F. and USC Rip. Cougars lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fourth position with ten games lost. They share it with Kalamunda ES and Pakenham W.. Hume City Broncos will meet league's second-placed Boomers in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cougars will play against Warriors and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
