Rather predictable result in Upwey where leader Devils (17-0) beat 3rd placed Suns (10-6) 78-72 on Sunday. Devils forced 24 Suns turnovers. It was a great evening for American guard Amanda Paschal (170-1996, college: Kentucky, agency: DC Sports) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assists and 8 steals. Her fellow American import swingman Lauren Jones (178-2003, college: Austin Peay) helped adding 10 points and 6 rebounds. Paschal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Devils' coach Gerard Hillier used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side New Zealand forward Alicia Carline (190-1993, college: Portland St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 21 rebounds and American Porsche Poole (175-1989, college: Michigan St.) scored 21 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. The victory was the seventeenth consecutive win for Devils. They maintain first place with 17-0 record. Loser Suns keep the third position with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
