Very important is a home loss of third ranked Sabres (13-6) against twelfth ranked Chargers (9-10) on Sunday night. Host Sabres were defeated by Chargers in Cheltenham 102-89. The best player for the winners was American guard Devin Watson (185-1995, college: SDSU) who scored 38 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. The former international swingman Sam McDaniel (198-1995, college: ULM) chipped in a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds. Four Chargers players scored in double figures. Guard Campbell Blogg (194-2003) produced 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized American guard CJ Asuncion-Byrd (194-1996, college: LeMoyne) added 28 points respectively for the hosts. Chargers moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Sabres keep the third position with six games lost. They share it with Frankston B. and Sutherland S.. Chargers will meet at home league's second-placed Mount Gambier Pioneers in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sabres will have a break next round.
