No shocking result in a game in Crows Nest where fourth ranked North Bears (15-4) smashed 14th ranked Bulls (5-14) 116-44 on Friday. North Bears dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Bulls' 22. North Bears forced 31 Bulls turnovers and outrebounded them 48-29 including a 19-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Bulls' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when North Bears made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Carla Pitman (180-2004) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 6 rebounds and guard Kate Seebohm (170-1991, college: California, PA) who added 10 points, 7 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Five North Bears players scored in double figures. North Bears' coach felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Naiobe Reid responded with 6 points and 9 rebounds and Serbian center Maja Peric (180-1989) scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks. North Bears moved-up to third place. Loser Bulls dropped to the tenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with East Perth E.. North Bears will meet Panthers (#14) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Bulls will play against Bruins (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
