We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Brisbane where 11th ranked Capitals (8-9) were defeated by twelfth ranked Force (6-11) 77-65 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Maria Blazejewski (185-1991, college: LSSU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds and guard Jasmin Howe (173-1995, college: NW Missouri St.) who added 14 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. Howe attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on her way to pro basketball. Forward Stephanie Collins (196-1995, college: SMU) responded with 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and Hilary Fuller scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Capitals' coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Force moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Pakenham W. Capitals lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. They share it with Forestville E.. Force will meet at home Sunshine CP (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Capitals will play against the league's leader Wizards (#1) in Taigum and hope to secure a win.
