Regular Season Round 14: Hawks - Tuatara 95-83

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Tuatara (13-3) in Tamatea on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by eighth ranked Hawks (6-10) 95-83. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Tuatara. Hawks dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Tuatara's 34. The former international guard Derone Raukawa (181-1994) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points and 4 assists. American forward Ira Lee (203-1998, college: Arizona) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. The former international power forward Robert Loe (211-1991, college: St.Louis) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and Australian guard Jarrad Weeks (183-1989) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Tuatara. Four Hawks and five Tuatara players scored in double figures. Hawks moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Giants. Tuatara at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Hawks is looking forward to face Jets (#9) in Palmerston North in the next round. Tuatara will play at home against Saints (#5) and is hoping to win this game.
