Important game to mention about took place in Terrigal. Twelfth ranked Crusaders (5-16) saved a 2-point victory at home edging second-ranked Bulls (16-4) 104-102 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Crusaders made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 29 Bulls turnovers. American point guard Aaron Ajay Lawton (184-1994, college: Indianapolis) orchestrated the victory by scoring 37 points (!!!), 6 assists and 6 steals (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Tye McGann (-1992) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Lawton is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. American guard Blake Morrow (193-1996, college: Southeastern) replied with 37 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and forward Alex Higgins-Titsha (197-2000) added 26 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Bulls. Four Bulls players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Crusaders maintains twelfth position with 5-16 record. Bulls at the other side keep the second place with four games lost. Crusaders will play against higher ranked Hawks (#9) in Wollongong in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Bulls will play at home against Bankstown Bruins (#13) and hope to get back on the winning track.
