No shocking result in a game when third ranked Cyclones (14-5) beat 16th ranked Roar (1-18) in Rockhampton 94-79 on Friday. Cyclones dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Roar's 40. Cyclones forced 19 Roar turnovers and outrebounded them 40-19 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. American center Samantha Bowman (188, college: CWU) nailed a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 14 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winning side and center Lara McSpadden (193-1999) accounted for 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Cyclones players scored in double figures. Cyclones' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Donica Cosby (172-1988, college: Okla City) came up with 17 points and 7 assists and point guard Lilly Rotunno (170-2004) added 19 points respectively for Roar in the defeat. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Cyclones. They maintain third place with 14-5 record having nine points less than leader Wyndham D., which they share with Rockingham F. Roar lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixteenth position with 18 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
