Regular Season Round 33: SC Phoenix - NGC Seahawks 105-81
Date: July 14, 2023
Not a big story in a game in Cotton Tree where 12th ranked Seahawks (7-12) were rolled over by tenth ranked Phoenix (10-9) 105-81 on Friday. Phoenix looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Seahawks' players. The best player for the winners was guard Jamaal Robateau (196-1994, college: Gardner-Webb) who scored 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Naturalized New Zealand Jonathan Janssen (205-1995, college: HPU) chipped in 23 points and 7 rebounds. Four Phoenix players scored in double figures. Phoenix's coach Brad Chalmers felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Kody Stattmann (202-2000, college: Virginia) who recorded 27 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Wesley Harris (203-1997, college: Tennessee St.) added 18 points respectively. Phoenix moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Seahawks lost their seventh game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Cockburn C. and Brisbane C.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
