Regular Season Round 21: Kalamunda ES - East Perth E. 92-57
Date: July 15, 2023
The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Eagles' (5-15) road loss to ninth ranked Suns (8-11) in Kalamunda 57-92 on Saturday. Suns outrebounded Eagles 39-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Eagles' players. American guard Natalie Chou (185-1997, college: UCLA) nailed 26 points and 4 assists for the winning side and naturalized British power forward Samantha Roscoe (194-1995, college: N.Dakota) accounted for 21 points and 5 assists. Forward Maddison Allen (190-1993, college: Santa Clara) came up with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks and New Zealand guard Tessa Morrison (173-1997, college: SNHU) added 14 points respectively for Eagles in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Suns moved-up to eighth place. Eagles lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Inner WB. Suns will meet league's leader Cougars in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Eagles will have a break next round.
