Everything went according to plan in Seaford where second ranked Frankston Blues (16-6) beat 4th placed Sabres (14-7) 99-90 on Saturday. Frankston Blues made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was forward Daniel Trist (206-1992, college: Lafayette) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). The former international swingman Brad Newley (198-1985) chipped in 26 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Ben Ayre (188-1995, college: Newman) who recorded 24 points and 5 assists and the former international forward Dane Pineau (206-1994, college: SMC) added 13 points and 17 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) respectively. Four Frankston Blues and five Sabres players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Frankston Blues. They maintain second place with 16-6 record having just six point less than leader Rockingham F. Loser Sabres keep the fourth position with seven games lost.
