Very significant was Kahu's (#3, 3-2) victory against Whai (1-2) 83-71. Kahu made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Kahu outrebounded Whai 46-28 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Penina Davidson (190-1995, college: California) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 20 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). American forward Iimari Thomas (178-2000, college: UCLA) chipped in 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Austrian forward Sarah Sagerer (189-1996, college: Stetson) who recorded 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Mikayla Cowling (188-1996, college: California, agency: LBM Management) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kahu will meet at home Pouakai (#5) in the next round. Whai will play against Queens and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
