Regular Season Round 6: S. Hoiho - Tokomanawa Q. 82-71

Very significant was Hoiho's (#1, 6-3) victory against one of their biggest challengers Queens (5-4) 82-71. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Hoiho made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. American forward Ashten Prechtel (196-2001, college: Stanford) scored 26 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Paige Bradley (178-1994, college: Denver) chipped in 14 points and 12 assists during the contest. Four Hoiho players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Paris Lokotui (182-2001) with 17 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Chrislyn Carr (165, college: Louisville) scored 13 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hoiho maintains first position with 6-3 record, which they share with N. Kahu. Defending champion Queens keep the third place with four games lost. Hoiho is looking forward to face league's leader Kahu in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Queens will play against Whai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
