The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Pouakai's (2-9) home loss to fourth ranked Whai (5-5) 83-92 on Sunday. Whai had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American forward Mikayla Cowling (188-1996, college: California, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds. Austrian forward Sarah Sagerer (189-1996, college: Stetson) helped adding 27 points and 9 rebounds. Four Whai players scored in double figures. At the losing side American swingman Jasmine Dickey (175-2000, college: Delaware, agency: LBM Management) responded with 31 points and 5 rebounds and British guard Kennedy Leonard (173-1996, college: Colorado, agency: LBM Management) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 6 rebounds, 15 assists and 4 steals. Whai moved-up to third place, which they share with Tokomanawa Q. Pouakai lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Whai will meet league's leader Kahu in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Pouakai will play against Queens (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
