Regular Season Round 1: Adelaide - Melbourne 60-68

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Adelaide Lightning at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by Boomers 68-60. Boomers forced 20 Adelaide Lightning turnovers. New Zealand guard Tera Reed (183-1998, college: USC) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and New Zealand forward Penina Davidson (190-1995, college: California) chipped in 12 points and 10 rebounds. Four Boomers players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Brianna Turner (191-1996, college: Notre Dame) responded with 3 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists and the other American import forward Jocelyn Willoughby (183-1998, college: Virginia, agency: LBM Management) scored 14 points. Adelaide Lightning's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Boomers are looking forward to face Sydney Flames on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Adelaide Lightning will play against Perth Lynx and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
