There was a minor upset when their close opponentSeahawks (2-1) lost to eighth ranked Flames (2-1) in Townsville 71-77 on Friday. Center Saffron Shiels (187-2006) nailed 19 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and point guard Indiah Bowyer (171-2003) accounted for 22 points. Guard Miela Goodchild (180-2000, college: Duke) came up with 34 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and forward Mikaela Ruef (191-1990, college: Stanford) added 7 points, 17 rebounds and 8 assists respectively for NGC Seahawks in the defeat.
