Regular Season Round 4: Camberwell - Western PS 79-74
Date: April 27, 2024
Camberwell 's fans can celebrate the first win of their team after three consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Steelers (0-5) 79-74 on Saturday. The winners were led by American point guard Christopher Elder (180-1989, college: St.Francis, IL) who scored that evening 26 points and forward Luke Liesegang (203-1997) supported him with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Elder attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. Even a double-double of 27 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocks by American center Russell Permenter (203-1988, college: Providence) did not help to save the game for Western PS . Elijah Davy added 15 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals for lost side. Steelers' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Camberwell maintains tenth position with 1-3 record. It was Western PS 's fifth loss in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Blackburn. Camberwell will meet at home higher ranked Pakenham (#4) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Western PS will play against Hume City (#5) in Tullamarine and hopes to get finally their first victory.
