Regular Season Round 15: Bendigo LB - Ringwood H. 109-74

There was a change at the NBL One leadership position after last games. Round 15 most important game was a defeat of league's leaderHawks (7-2). They were crushed by fifth ranked Lady Braves (6-1) 109-74 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hawks. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Bendigo dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Hawks 's 32. Bendigo outrebounded Ringwood 53-34 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Bendigo looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a great evening for forward Megan McKay (190-1997, college: SMC) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Cassidy McLean (178-1999) helped adding 24 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Lady Braves players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Lana Hollingsworth (178, college: Santa Clara) with 17 points and Filipino power forward Jack-Danielle Animam (192-1998) scored 8 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Hawks' coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Bendigo keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Ringwood at the other side dropped to the second place with two games lost. They share the position with Dandenong R.. They were replaced at the leadership position by Keilor T.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
