Very predictable result in Greensborough where sixth ranked Rangers (9-3) defeated 12th ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (3-6) 76-64 on Saturday. Dandenong R. outrebounded Diamond VE 48-34 including a 38-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Nyadiew Puoch (189-2004) fired 26 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American guard Amber Smith (180-1998, college: Missouri) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Power forward Gemma Potter (182-2002) produced 16 points and 5 rebounds and French forward Naomi Mbandu (188-1999, college: Miami, FL) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Diamond VE players scored in double figures. Dandenong R. moved-up to third place. Loser Diamond Valley Eagles dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Norwood F. and Maitland. Dandenong R. will meet at home Bendigo (#6) in the next round. Diamond VE will have a break next round.
