Very important is a home loss of second rankedCougars (8-4) against eighth ranked Melbourne Uni (5-6) on Saturday night. Host Cougars were defeated by Melbourne Uni in a tough game in Keysborough 103-112 . Melbourne Uni made 33-of-40 free shots (82.5 percent) during the game, while Keysborough only scored fourteen points from the stripe. Melbourne Uni forced 22 Keysborough turnovers. The best player for the winners was American guard Ricardo Time (188, college: Idaho Coll.) who scored 25 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Joel Rimes (196) chipped in 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Five Melbourne Uni players scored in double figures. American forward Gerrard Newby (196-1995, college: Union, KY) produced a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Anthony Williams (178-1995, college: Clark Atlanta) added 21 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Cougars' coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Melbourne Uni moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Shepparton. Loser Cougars keeps the second position with four games lost.
