There was a small surprise when fourth rankedDandenong Rangers (11-5) edged their close opponent Ballarat Miners (11-4) in Wendouree 86-84 on Saturday. Dandenong R. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Brandon Betson (185, college: Sacramento St.) notched 25 points (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and the former international point guard Tad Dufelmeier (183-1996, college: CUI) supported him with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 22 points and 5 rebounds by guard Luke Rosendale (194-2001) did not help to save the game for Ballarat M. . Naturalized Sudanese power forward Majok Majok (210-1992, college: Ball St.) added 16 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Dandenong Rangers have an impressive five-game winning streak. Dandenong R. maintains fourth position with 11-5 record.
