There was no surprise when 15th rankedBruins (4-14) lost to twelfth ranked Panthers (6-11) in Penrith 57-71 on Saturday. Penrith held Bankstown B. to an opponent 23.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 39.7 percent accuracy of the winners and made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Penrith outrebounded Bankstown B. 52-39 including a 40-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for naturalized New Zealand guard Tahlia Tupaea (175-1997) who led the winners and scored 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Forward Chloe Williams (190-2005, college: Indiana St.) accounted for 24 points for the winning side. American guard Violet Morrow (176-1997, college: EWU, agency: IceBasket) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and South Korean forward Jihyun Park (180-2000) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Bankstown B. in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Panthers . Penrith moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Joondalup W. Bankstown B. lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifteenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Kilsyth.
