The game between third rankedCougars (11-6) and tenth ranked Camberwell (4-11) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Cougars were edged by Camberwell in a tough game in Melbourne 92-94 . It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Cougars. American point guard Christopher Elder (180-1989, college: St.Francis, IL) fired 17 points for the winners. Forward Jackson Dean chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. Elder is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Camberwell players scored in double figures. Mongolian forward Steve Wooten Jr (198-1998, college: Bethesda) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds and forward Shaquille Maharaj (196-1997, college: Camosun) added 21 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Camberwell maintains tenth place with 4-11 record. McKinnon at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. Camberwell's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Melbourne to the arena Blackburn.
