Date: July 27, 2024
The game between Top Four teams took place in Bulleen. Third ranked host Boomers (14-6) defeated one of their biggest challengers Suns (12-8) 81-68. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Suns. Bulleen outrebounded Sherbrooke S. 38-20 including a 25-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Amy Baum (170, college: USF) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Keli Romas (170, college: Newberry) who added 17 points during the contest. Boomers' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side New Zealand forward Alicia Carline (190-1993, college: Portland St.) responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds and Tenaya Sooalo scored 12 points. Bulleen maintains third position with 14-6 record having five points less than leader Wyndham D. Sherbrooke S. at the other side keeps the fourth place with eight games lost. Bulleen are looking forward to face league's second-placed Bellarine on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sherbrooke S. will play against Sunbury J. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
