The most crucial game of the last round was a loss ofKahu (3-1) on the court of Pouakai on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Pouakai 88-79 . Mainland P. outrebounded N. Kahu 37-26 including 23 on the defensive glass. Mainland P. looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for Australian swingman Mikhaela Cann (177-1994) who led her team to a victory with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international forward Esra McGoldrick (188-1999, college: NC State) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Pouakai players scored in double figures. American swingman IimarI Thomas (178-2000, college: UCLA) answered with 37 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and the former international guard Tahlia Tupaea (175-1997) added 18 points in the effort for N. Kahu.
