First defeat of league's leader Lions (0-1) against top-ranked Bearcats (1-0) 96-32 was the most important game of the last round. Bearcats held Lions to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.7 percent accuracy of the winners. Bearcats forced 30 Lions turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 3 passes made by Lions' players. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Jennie Rintala (188-90, college: S.Dakota St.) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Sky Langenbrinck (-91) contributed with 25 points (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners. April Lamb replied with 10 points and 8 rebounds and Meaza Otto added 6 points in the effort for Lions. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bearcats left bottom position moving up to fifth place in League. Lions at the other side still closes the standings with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Albury LB. Lions will play next round against Sabres trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Bearcats will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Tigers in Morphett Vale.
