There was a minor upset in Dromana where 7th ranked Sharks (2-5) were crushed by ninth ranked Devils (2-4) 94-52 on Saturday. Devils forced 20 Sharks turnovers and outrebounded them 45-32 including a 34-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Nicola Handreck who scored 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Courtney Middap (178, college: Hawaii) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. Five Devils players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Fiona Darnell who recorded 11 points and 6 rebounds and Ashleigh Wright added 16 points respectively. Sharks' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Devils moved-up to seventh place in League. Loser Sharks dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. Devils will face higher ranked Cavaliers (#3) in Casey in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sharks will play at home against Whittlesea P. (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
