Regular Season Round 10: Launceston T. - Eltham W. 73-86

There was no surprise when 5th ranked Tornadoes (3-2) lost to top-ranked Wildcats (5-0) in Launceston 73-86 on Saturday. Wildcats made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game, while Tornadoes only scored four points from the stripe. Tornadoes were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for swingman Anneli Maley (188-98, college: TCU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of her eleven free throws !!!). Center Rebecca Pizzey (190-99) contributed with 23 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Wildcats players scored in double figures. Forward Keely Froling (188-96, college: SMU) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 18 rebounds and guard Mariah Payne (170, college: Minot St.) added 18 points and 8 assists in the effort for Tornadoes. Wildcats maintains first position in League with 5-0 record. Loser Tornadoes dropped to the seventh place with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
