Rather predictable result when second ranked Boomers (6-1) rolled over 6th ranked Hume City Broncos (2-5) in Bulleen 89-70 on Saturday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Boomers made 7 blocks. It was a very good performance for guard Rebecca Cole (178-92) who helped to win the game recording 39 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. Naturalized British forward Louella Tomlinson (193-88, college: St.Mary's, CA) contributed with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Boomers' coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Hailey Wynd replied with 16 points and 6 rebounds and Sophie Byrnes added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Hume City Broncos. Boomers maintains second position in League with 6-1 record having just five point less than leader Sutherland S. Loser Hume City Broncos dropped to the seventh place with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
