Rather expected game in Kilsyth where 10th ranked Lady Cobras (2-2) were rolled over by eighth ranked Spectres (4-2) 90-70 on Saturday. Spectres outrebounded Lady Cobras 47-33 including a 38-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Rachel Antoniadou (175-96, college: FSU) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Louise Brown (190-95, college: Tennessee) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Tia Hay (170, college: Santa Clara) who recorded 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international power forward Lauren Scherf (196-96) added 10 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Five Spectres and four Lady Cobras players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Spectres maintains eighth position in League with 4-2 record. Loser Lady Cobras dropped to the eleventh place with two games lost. Spectres will face higher ranked Knox Raiders (#3) in Wantirna South in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Lady Cobras will play on the road against Diamond Valley Eagles (#19) in Greensborough and hope to win that game.
