The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Rollers (2-1) in Gold Coast on Sunday night. Hosts were rolled over by second ranked Flames (5-1) 89-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Rollers. It was a good game for guard Stephanie Reid (168-96, college: Buffalo) who led her team to a victory with 37 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Guard Mia Murray (184-88) contributed with 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Casey Samuels (182-94) replied with 25 points and 8 rebounds and the former international guard Lauren Mansfield (170-89, college: Iowa St.) added 17 points and 5 assists in the effort for Rollers. Four Rollers players scored in double figures. Flames maintains second position with 5-1 record having seven points less than leader Sunbury J., which they share with Knox R. and Joondalup W. Rollers at the other side keep the seventh place with one game lost. Flames is looking forward to face Brisbane Spartans (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Rollers will play against Cyclones (#14) in Rockhampton and are hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
