No shocking result in a game in Gawler where sixth ranked Bearcats (5-5) smashed bottom-ranked Lions (0-10) 102-50 on Saturday. Bearcats dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Lions' 32 and made 27-of-32 free shots (84.4 percent) during the game. Bearcats forced 28 Lions turnovers. Lions were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American power forward Jennie Rintala (188-90, college: S.Dakota St.) who scored 23 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Sky Langenbrinck (-91) chipped in 18 points (perfect from the field making all six shots). Five Bearcats players scored in double figures. April Lamb produced 14 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and Meaza Otto added 17 points respectively for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bearcats maintains sixth position in League with 5-5 record. Loser Lions still closes the standings with ten games lost.
