Melbourne fired past Perth for the second straight victory in the championship series. United made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. The former international center Jock Landale (211-95, college: St.Mary's, CA) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 17 rebounds. The former international guard Chris Goulding (192-88) contributed with 21 points for the winners. American forward John Mooney (206-98, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) replied with 17 points and 9 rebounds and the former international swingman Todd Blanchfield (200-91) added 13 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) in the effort for Perth Wildcats. Four Perth Wildcats players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
