Not a big story in a game in Eltham where 16th ranked Lady Bandits (1-9) were defeated by fourth ranked Wildcats (7-2) 82-72 on Saturday. Wildcats outrebounded Lady Bandits 52-39 including a 24-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Swingman Anneli Maley (188-98, college: TCU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 22 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and forward Tess Heal (178-4) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Five Wildcats players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American-Samoan guard Geraldynn Leaupepe (179-96, college: Cal Poly) with 20 points and 5 rebounds and guard Emma Mahady (179-92, college: California, PA) scored 11 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Wildcats maintains fourth place in League with 7-2 record. Loser Lady Bandits keep the sixteenth position with nine games lost. Wildcats will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lady Bandits will play against Sabres (#10) in Cheltenham and hope to win that game.
