Regular Season Round 21: Joondalup W. - Rockingham F. 71-60

The biggest surprise took place in Joondalup where host Wanneroo (8-1) beat league's leader Flames (8-4) 71-60 on Saturday evening. The best player for the winners was American forward Kayla Steindl (187-89, college: Gonzaga) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. Her fellow American import power forward Amber Land (188-85, college: EMU) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Alex Ciabattoni (183-94) who recorded 21 points and swingman Christina Boag (188-91) added 11 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Wanneroo keeps a position of League leader. Flames at the other side dropped to the second place with four games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Frankston B.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
