Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Falcons (4-3) lost to fourth ranked Wildcats (8-2) in Mount Waverley 80-94 on Sunday. Wildcats outrebounded Falcons 50-30 including a 36-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Swingman Anneli Maley (188-98, college: TCU) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points and 20 rebounds to lead the effort and center Rebecca Pizzey (190-99) supported her with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Even 31 points and 5 rebounds by the former international swingman Alice Kunek (187-91) did not help to save the game for Falcons. Forward Renae Mokrzycki (183-94, college: Idaho) added 15 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Five Wildcats and four Falcons players scored in double figures. Falcons' coach rotated twelve players saving starting five for next games. Wildcats moved-up to third place in League. Loser Falcons dropped to the ninth position with three games lost.
