The game in Heathmont was quite interesting. 6th ranked Tigers (6-5) played at the court of eighth ranked Hawks (6-3). Hawks defeated Tigers 71-56 on Wednesday. They outrebounded Tigers 45-34 including 32 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for guard Marena Whittle (180-94, college: NDSU, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Demi Skinner (190-97) helped adding 15 points and 10 rebounds. Four Hawks players scored in double figures. Forward Zitina Aokuso (192-98) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 22 rebounds and point guard Monique Conti (165-99) scored 16 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hawks moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Warwick S. Tigers at the other side keep the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Perth R.. Hawks is looking forward to face league's leader Frankston Blues in Seaford in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tigers will have a break next round.
