Regular Season Round 23: Hobart C. - Geelong LS 69-98

Rather expected game in Hobart where 16th ranked Chargers (1-10) were crushed by fourteenth ranked Geelong Supercats (4-5) 98-69. Geelong Supercats dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Chargers' 40. Geelong Supercats forced 26 Chargers turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Sara Blicavs (188-93) who led the winners and scored 34 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. Guard Sarah Elsworthy (171-98) accounted for 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Four Geelong Supercats players scored in double figures. The former international guard Madeleine Garrick (178-92) came up with 28 points and 7 rebounds and Austrian-British forward Ellie Collins (183-98) added 20 points respectively for Chargers in the defeat. Chargers' coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Geelong Supercats moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Chargers lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. They share it with Albury LB and Woodville W.. Geelong Supercats will play against Ballarat Rush (#13) in Wendouree in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Chargers will have a break next round.
