Regular Season Round 24: Launceston T. - Geelong LS 73-70
Date: July 3, 2021
Very predictable result in Launceston where fourth ranked Tornadoes (9-3) edged 12th ranked Geelong Supercats (4-6) 73-70 on Saturday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Tornadoes made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Kelsey Griffin (188-87, college: Nebraska) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals and forward Keely Froling (188-96, college: SMU) who added 16 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Four Tornadoes players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Sara Blicavs (188-93) with 22 points and 8 rebounds and guard Sarah Elsworthy (171-98) scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Tornadoes moved-up to third place in League. Loser Geelong Supercats keep the twelfth position with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
