Not a big story in a game in East Burwood where 15th ranked Mount Gambier Pioneers (2-9) were outplayed by seventh ranked Spectres (7-3) 92-66 on Sunday. Spectres dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Mount Gambier Pioneers' 24. Guard Eliza Chilcott-Wright (-90) stepped up and scored 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of her nine free throws !!!) for the winners and the former international guard Rachel Antoniadou (175-96, college: FSU) chipped in 22 points and 5 assists. At the losing side Sherrie Calleia responded with 24 points and forward Shakera Reilly (178-99) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Spectres moved-up to sixth place in League. Loser Mount Gambier Pioneers keep the fifteenth position with nine games lost. Spectres will meet Falcons (#11) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Mount Gambier Pioneers will play against Sabres (#10) and hope to secure a win.
