Everything went according to plan in Cheltenham where eighth ranked Tigers (7-5) outleveled 10th ranked Sabres (4-5) 100-49 on Sunday. Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Sabres' 26. They outrebounded Sabres 44-33 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tigers shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Forward Zitina Aokuso (192-98) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and point guard Monique Conti (165-99) chipped in 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Tigers players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Brigitte ONeill (188-97, college: Idaho) responded with 10 points and 6 rebounds and the former international Rachel Jarry (185-91) scored 9 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tigers maintains eighth place in League with 7-5 record. Loser Sabres keep the tenth position with five games lost. Tigers will meet at home Ballarat Rush (#14) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Sabres will play against Mount Gambier Pioneers (#15) in Mt Gambier and hope to secure a win.
