No shocking result in a game when fifteenth ranked Lady Bandits (4-10) crushed 18th ranked Chargers (1-13) in Albury 85-52 on Saturday. Lady Bandits dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Chargers' 22. Lady Bandits forced 25 Chargers turnovers. Guard Emma Mahady (179-92, college: California, PA) notched 16 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and American-Samoan guard Lynn Leaupepe (180-96, college: Cal Poly) supported her with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Leaupepe is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Lady Bandits players scored in double figures. Lady Bandits' coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 19 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists by Austrian-British forward Ellie Collins (183-98) did not help to save the game for Chargers. Power forward Tayla Roberts (191-93) added 14 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Lady Bandits moved-up to thirteenth place in League. Loser Chargers keep the eighteenth position with 13 games lost. Lady Bandits will meet Ballarat Rush (#14) in the next round. Chargers will play against Falcons (#11) and hope to win that game.
