Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Devils (5-7) outplayed 8th ranked Sharks (4-9) in Werribee 95-72 on Sunday. American swingman Lauren Jones (178-3, college: Austin Peay) notched 24 points to lead the effort and Irish guard Jessica Scannell (172-89, college: Iona) supported her with 18 points and 4 assists. Four Devils players scored in double figures. Even 27 points and 7 rebounds by American swingman Raynisha Washington (175-92, college: Northeastern, CO) did not help to save the game for Sharks. Tanarly Hood added 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the guests. Sharks' coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Devils maintains sixth position in League with 5-7 record. Loser Sharks keep the eighth place with nine games lost. Devils will meet at home Hume City Broncos (#7) in the next round. Sharks will have a break next round.
