Regular Season Round 11: Saints - Nuggets 102-85

NBL top team - Saints (14-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat fifth ranked Nuggets (9-8) in Wellington 102-85. Saints forced 21 Nuggets turnovers. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a great evening for American guard Kerwin Roach II (193-96, college: Texas) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points and 4 assists (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field). Forward Taane Samuel (200-99) helped adding 23 points and 5 rebounds. Australian forward Geremy McKay (201-96, college: Vanguard) responded with 25 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Isaiah Moss (196-96, college: Kansas) scored 23 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Saints. They maintain first place with 14-2 record. Defending champion Nuggets keep the fifth position with eight games lost. Saints will play against Huskies (#4) in Auckland in the next round. Nuggets will play at home against Rams and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
